Lounge Bar
Our relaxing and comfortable lounge is on the lower ground floor and as a guest you are very welcome to use this during your stay in Bowness on Windermere. Our newly refurbished ‘Cellar Bar’ retains the feel of Lonsdale House’s days as a hotel and is open to provide local and international bottled beers, a wide selection of wines, Champagne, soft drinks and bar snacks. Beverages will be provided upon request until the bar closes in the evening. It’s a lovely place to finish off your evening after eating or being entertained in Bowness or Windermere!
Dining Room
This can be found on the lower ground floor, next to the bar. Breakfast will be served between 8.30 to 9.30. If you have any special dietary requirements we ask that you inform us when you first check-in.
Child & Family Friendly Guest House
Lonsdale house welcomes families and easily accommodates them in the family rooms that sleep either 3, 4 or 5 people. If you’ve got a baby or toddlers exploring the Lake District with you, high chairs and cots are also available on request.
Morning Paper
If you require these please place your request with reception the prior evening, these will be left outside your room door.
Iron & Ironing Board
Available if required and can be brought to your room.

Since we switched to being a guest house instead of a hotel, we’ve gathered a huge range of information about the local food scene. Whatever your taste in food, we can provide a list of suggestions for restaurants in Bowness, Windermere and further afield in the Lakes. We’re also happy to make reservations on your behalf, just come along and talk to us in reception for details.
Taxi
If you want to get out and have a nice sociable drink or two, without the worry of driving, there are lots of taxi services available in Windermere and Bowness to get you where you need to be. We know all the local taxi firms in Bowness and we can easily request a taxi on your behalf! Please just come along to reception and let us know what your requirements are.

Free Parking
Secure parking available at the rear of the property, just a few yards off the Lake Road. It is subject to availability so let us know if you are bringing a vehicle to Bowness when you book your stay.
Late Entry
The rear main access door is locked at 10pm, the front main door on the Lake Road side will remain open with the inner door locked, your bedroom key will open this door.
Departure
We ask that your rooms are vacated by 10.30am each morning to allow for housekeeping to take place.

Pet Friendly Guest House
We welcome dogs and we are able to accommodate dogs in specific rooms, this is chargeable at £20 per dog per stay. Please call direct for details or select a pet friendly room when booking online. Maximum of 2 pets per room only.
